brrring ... brrring ...

so, last night i went out to sushi with the girls. becky excused herself at one point to go to the restroom. and she had a funny story when she got back: as she was just sitting down, she heard from the other stall "so are you watching?" uhh ... what? watching what? watching her? what in the world?! becky tried to think of any and all situations where that would be an appropriate question to ask someone through a bathroom stall door ... and then she heard "yeah, so are we." the woman was on the phone!!

i don't know why people suddenly think it is okay to talk on the phone in the bathroom. like, and i don't mean talking on the phone when in the privacy of the bathroom in your own home and you can strategically use the "mute" button to pretend like you really aren't in the bathroom -- i mean the public restroom: where other people are walking in, washing hands, flushing toilets, etc., and where you just basically have less control over the noises to be transmitted over the air waves.

when i walked into the restroom here at work just a bit ago, there was someone in one of the stalls gabbing away in some other language. sometimes i just wait until the person hangs up, but well, i really had to go just now, so i couldn't even *try* to wait until she was done. i just hope she was able to hang up before i flushed -- i mean, i don't think that is *ever* a sound i want to hear over the phone.
